Children (aged 6-9) and Teens (aged 10-15) can also learn the highly academick oil painting medium. Scholastic benefits include improved focus and concentration, attention to detail, multi-tasking and analysis. These workshops incorporate the same materials used and emphasize the techniques taught in the adult programs. Fine Art Director Fine Artist Instructor Rachel LaBarre is a native San Diego artist. She works with oil paints to create abstracted images of nature, recycled materials to hand make paper, and found items and semiprecious stones to create jewelry featured in Boulder boutiques. She is formally trained in drawing, painting, and sculpture. Her passion is creation in any form, and through teaching she strives to inspire a love of art in her younger students. She is a Francis Parker alumni and graduate of the University of Colorado, Boulder with degrees in Anthropology and Fine Art with an emphasis in Studio Art.
Galerie Director Fine Artist Instructor Porschia is an enthusiast of every kind of creative manifestation, no matter the medium. She loves teaching children and watching their minds and self-confidence flourish through artistic expression, as well as adding more beauty to this world with her own art. She was born and raised in Melbourne, Australia and during the past ten years that she has lived in the US she has attended La Jolla Country Day School, the New School of Architecture and Design in San Diego and Portland State University in Oregon.

Please note that your child may do a "DROP-IN" for missed or unfinished work on their masterpieces with a private drop in reservation. These 1 hr "DROP-IN" sessions may be shared with other Petit Painter friends your child may have who may also need to catch up. Your instructors will assist.
